What's In the Box?

Campaign Map

The largest of the boards. The General figurine moves around the board collecting tokens (if you’re playing as David or Saul), and trying to catch or avoid other generals.

The Unit Roster

This colored rectangle, bordered by a stone wall, is the unit roster. It shows where to place archers, infantry, and chariots, matching your figurine color. Your army’s location is marked by the General figurine.

The Battleboards

There are two double-sided battleboards: one side shows a field map, the other a siege map. When generals meet on the Campaign map, the battle begins, and your current unit roster is moved to the battleboards.

Units & Figurines

Figurines are all playing pieces including the General, seige towers, chariots, archers and infantry. Units are the chariots, archers and infantry. They are used in the battleboards.

Battles & Skirmishes

Skirmishes happen on the battleboards when units, heroes, and siege towers clash. They’re resolved with Resolution and Triage cards. A battle is a series of skirmishes until one player has no units left.

Tokens

These tokens are the black “coins”. They represents Heroes, Musicians and the Prophet. Tokens are placed faced down on the Campaign Map at the start of the game during set up.

Heroes

Heroes are added to the unit roster of their assigned General only. Tokens show a star for David’s heroes, a shield for Saul’s, plus the hero’s initial. Each matches one of six Hero cards. Tokens are placed on the battleboard to show the hero’s location and movement.

Other Cards

Resolution cards are labelled “Success” or “Fail” and are used to resolve various actions. Triage cards offer three possible outcomes for a successful attack on the Battleboard, while Psalm cards provide special actions during battles on the Battleboard.
